Every first Sunday of the month Santa Maria della Scala opens free of charge to the public: a unique opportunity to visit the museum complex and the National Archaeological Museum.
It will, furthermore, be possible to participate in a guided tour, at 10:30, dedicated to the works of Lorenzo di Pietro known as il Vecchietta, available by reservation at the cost of € 5.00.
The visit is reserved for a maximum of 25 participants.
For the month of February, exceptionally, the free opening will be Sunday, February 8 (instead of Sunday, February 1), with the same services.

Vecchietta at Santa Maria della Scala. A new vision for the museum complex
Just over six hundred years after the birth of Lorenzo di Pietro, known as Vecchietta (Siena, 1410–1480), the Santa Maria della Scala museum complex has decided to reorganize some of its rooms, starting from the artist who left the deepest mark on its history.
